Q: Can you email an unused golden retriever adoption code to colingibson@ymail.com?
striped snake will work black lab too

A: sure it will take pretty long though

Q: how much does it cost for a golden retriever puppy for adoption at petsmart?

A: Petsmart allows local shelters to bring the dogs in, so whatever the local shelter charges would be the cost. Cities have varying shelter costs.

Also– local shelters in this area charge way more than $150. I have seen them try to get over three hundred for a purebred dog. They make big bucks from puppies, so they love to have them brought in. Shelter work is not done as a labor of love, it is a profit industry, or at least the ones I have seen a lot of are simply done for profit.

Q: Where can i find a yellow lab or golden retriever in massachusetts for adoption for $400 or under?
Looking for websites, breeders, shelters, or people selling yellow labs or golden retrievers

A: yankee golden retriever rescue,,, located in Hudson, MA

Q: Golden retriever for adoption?
I live in Oregon. I have been doing a lot of research and i have decided i want a golden retriever for a dog. I love them because the are friendly and kind and good with children. I have a six month old son and would like to get him young. doesnt have to be too young. atleast under a year though. I will like to be able to train him myself and i want him to be able to grow up with my son. If you know of any breeders or someone looking to give ppuppies away or even at a low cost. please let me know. i have money for the vet and food and all that, but dont want to spend too much and the dog itself.

And please dont say to wait until my son is older. Its my deccision and i only have one kid and plenty of time to spend with the both of them. I also wont leave them alone together. THe dog would get all the attention he needs and so will my son.

if you can help.

Thank you

A: Definitely get a golden retriever! I have been raised with them my whole life. When I was born there were already two in my house and we got along just fine. Because they are such dedicated dogs it is super easy to train them. Look into local shelters or reputable golden retriever rescues. Some of those dogs have been through horrible things but are so loving. Be sure to ask about the type of golden you are getting personality-wise, to make sure it fits you. Look in the newspaper too you can find some breeders with relatively decent costs. I grew up with my golden and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I hope your son enjoys his.

Oh and check petfinder.com too

Q: Where can I find older golden retriever rescue/adoption/fostering in new england?
I am looking to foster a golden retriever with the intent to adopt. I am specifically looking for a golden that is between 3 and 7 years old, but would take a dog a little older or a little younger. I do not want a puppy. I want to rescue a dog from a shelter or adopt a dog that is no longer wanted in a home. I live in New England. Any help/websites/information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

A: Check out http://www.petfinder.com

You can search local shelters for any breed you want. Most shelters do a little write-up about the dog. Good Luck.

Q: Are Golden Retriever the best dog to play with?
Well anyway I already know a adoption center that had Goldens but are golden retrievers a good dog? My opinion is yes. But are they great dogs?

A: First off, thank you for choosing to adopt! Secondly, golden retrievers make a great family dog, but most breeds, such as pitbulls are often forgotten. They have a bad reputation, but thats because the owners are bad, not the dogs themselves. I would say going to the shelter and taking a look around first would be best. You may be surprised.

Q: Where can i find purebred Golden Retriever Puppies?
i went to the local shelter, nothing. i don’t want to BUY it. if i got another dog, i swore i would rescue it like my other dog. petfinder had them, but were mixes. i really want a purebred golden retriever puppy up for adoption. can someone help me?

A: This is a very good place to start!

http://www.grca-nrc.org/Localrescues.htm

It will tell you all the Golden rescues in your state and surrounding states. I’m sure once you give any of them a call they will be very happy to help you find the golden that you will want!

Best of luck and thanks for looking into a rescue!

Q: Were can I find golden retriever puppies in jacksonville NC for free or adoption or no more than 300.00?

A: From some backyard breeder or puppy mill. You sound cheap. That is what you will get too!!! A cheap, poorly bred puppy. Good luck!

Q: i live in chino hills california and looking for golden retriever to adopt from a family (no shelter)?
where can i look for dogs on adoption thats was not strayed. it needs to be family dogs that are young and not far from chino hills. im only looking for golden retriever.

A: Not sure exactly were Chino Hills is. But here is a Golden Retriever breeder located in Simi Valley. Their dogs are health tested. Some of their puppies have been used in TV episodes.

http://www.desertrosegoldens.com/

EDIT: Why am i getting thumbs down. Hello the breeder link i posted GENETICALLY HEALTH TESTS their breeding stock. So they are NOT a BYB or a Puppy mill. Otherwise i wouldn’t have suggested this breeder. I myself would never purchase a Puppy from a breeder that doesn’t health test their dogs and or Shows them in Comformation.

Q: Does anyone know where I could find a Golden Retriever puppy in the Metro-D.C. Area?
Looking for a Golden Retriever puppy.
Prefs:Female,young(babyish), Adoption or rescue!Golden Colored.
Please and thank you!

A: Try www.petfinder.com. I have 2 Golden’s. We got one from a rescue in MA. You may want try http://www.grreat.org/ or http://www.almostheaven-golden-retriever-rescue.org/aug-04.html, they are rescues in your area. If they don’t have puppies, maybe they know of a breeder. Good luck. They are great dogs!

Q: What is the average age of a golden retriever puppy when you buy it from a breeder..?
Like how many weeks old will they be after there born until they can be put up for adoption..

A: think twice about getting a purebred from a reputable breeder get a mixed less health problems then purebreds.purebreds are overbred inbred and linebred so much they have alot of health problems as they get older.if you get a purebred don’t go to a reuptable breeder.they care only about conformation and structure nothing about the inside of a dog.they just want that champion show dog.put a ad in your local paper less chance it is inbred that way.vets love reputable breeders because that’s money in their pockets.

i let my pups go to new homes at 6 1/2 weeks.after they had their first shots and wormed.

Q: What breeder can I golden retriever puppy from?
A breeder not a adoption and 8 weeks old

A: Once you have decided on the breed you are looking for, visit the internet and find the NATIONAL BREED CLUB for your breed. Review all the information about the breed and find the web pages or phone contacts of breeders that are listed there. National breed clubs almost always have certain standards and ethics quides for any breeders which are listed on their pages.
Step2Prepare a questionnaire of questions you want to ask the breeder. This is a good one:
What health guarantees do you have?
Can you give me a vet reference?
Can I visit your kennel and if so, when?
How long have you been breeding?
Do you enter your own dogs in AKC events?
Can you send me a sample copy of your contract?
Do you sell your litters to pet stores or brokers?
(there is NO responsible breeder that will sell to a broker or a pet store, since it is too difficult to follow through on who is getting your puppy!!)
The LAST question should be “how much do your puppies cost?” but it is of course an important question
Step3Do make plans to visit the kennel and while there check the following things:
Are the dogs healthy and happy?
Does the kennel owner know each one by name?
Do the dogs have places to run outside their pens?
Are the pens clean and roomy?
(even if the home is a mess or in an uproar and not very neat, the kennels should be clean and all dogs should have food and fresh water available)
Is the whelping area in the house?
(puppies should be raised INSIDE a home for at least the first four weeks in order to get all the necessary social and physical attention needed in the first few weeks)
Do the sire and the dam act friendly and sociable?
(sometimes the STUD dog may not be available, the female may have been shipped elsewhere for breeding)

Q: I want to get a golden retriever puppy in Texas!!!! please help!!!!?
I live near Austin, TX. i REALLY want to get a good golden retriever puppy. the only problem is i dont have much money to spend to buy one…(i have enough money for food and shots though dont worry) do you know any breeders that sell them cheap? or any adoption places that have puppies near me? please help! thank you for any help i get!

A: Make sure to contact a lot of breeders and ask them a lot of question about their breeding program. Get references from others that have bought dogs from them in the past. Contact these people to find out how well their experience went with that particular breeder. This is the best way to ensure that you buy from a reputable breeder. Good luck.

I saw a many Golden breeders in TX on this web page: http://www.pets4you.com/goldenretriever.html

Q: Is my dog a pure golden retriever, or an Irish Setter/Golden mix? (pictures)?
We adopted “Simba” about 2 yrs. ago (he’s about 3 1/2 yrs. old now) from the Golden Retriever Rescue. He had been starved and had lost an ear from unknown causes prior to his adoption. He is several inches taller (Setter-like) than any golden retriever I’ve previously owned, and weighs close to 90 lbs., though. Do you think that Simba is a purebred golden retriever, or an Irish Setter? Note the slightly domed head that might be evidence of Setter-blood.

A: Looks pretty Golden to me.. but there is no real way of telling and it doesn’t matter anyway. The ‘domed’ head means nothing – that is not evidence of Setter any more than it is evidence of any other breed – it is simply a characteristic of this dog — I have Dobermans with slightly domed skulls and others with flat ones — it is a fault to have the domed ones but it doesn’t mean they have Setter in them (as I know they don’t) — If you feel better thinking he is ‘purebred’ then think it == if you feel better thinking he is a mix, then think that — it really doesn’t make any difference and there is absolutely no way of knowing and no real reason to worry about it… he looks loved and content and that is what is important…
